Season Series: This is the lone meeting between the teams. They haven't faced each other since Oct. 25, 2008, when the Ducks skated away with a 6-4 victory at the Bell Centre. Jean-Sebastien Giguere made 47 saves for Anaheim.
Big Story: Will the Ducks quickly rebound from a 4-0 loss at Phoenix on Saturday night? This game will be the first of seven straight at Honda Center for Anaheim, who had won a record 11 straight at home before a 4-3 loss to Colorado on March 3. Can Montreal make it 2-for-2 in Southern California? Two nights after a setback in San Jose, the Habs earned an impressive 4-2 win at Los Angeles. The victory gave the Canadiens sole possession of eighth place in the Eastern Conference.
Canadiens: Despite several key injuries this season, Montreal would be in the Stanley Cup Playoffs if the season ended today. On Saturday, forward Mike Cammalleri became the 10th player on the team to miss at least 10 games because of an injury. But that didn't stop the Habs from marching into Los Angeles and earning a hard-fought victory that featured a 23-save performance by Jaroslav Halak.
''We played a strong game defensively,'' Montreal coach Jacques Martin said. ''It was one of our better games away from the puck as far as getting good protection for our goalie.''
Ducks: Anaheim lost for the second straight game out of the Olympic break on Saturday night, as it went 0-for-7 on the power play en route to a 4-0 loss at Phoenix. The Ducks have been held scoreless over their last 369:51 at Jobing.Com Arena.
"The failure to execute when we had scoring chances was the disturbing part for us," Ducks coach Randy Carlyle said. "It seems like right now we're not getting anywhere near the performance level that's required. I think everybody can do more."
Who's Hot: Montreal is Dominic Moore's seventh team in six years, but that hasn't stopped the 29-year-old center from producing. Moore scored shorthanded on Saturday night for his second goal in five games since being acquired from the Florida Panthers.
Injury Report: Canadiens defenseman Marc-Andre Bergeron and forward Mike Cammalleri are out with knee injuries. … Ducks forward Joffrey Lupul (back) is out indefinitely.
Stat Pack: Anaheim forward Teemu Selanne notched his 598th career goal and picked up his 645th career assist in a 4-3 loss to Colorado on Wednesday.
