Ducks set to conclude road trip in Dallas
Anaheim Ducks vs. Dallas Stars
DUCKS (3-5-1) at STARS (5-2-0)

TV: PRIME (HD), FW-SW (HD)

Season series -- It'll be the first of six meetings between the Pacific Division rivals. The Ducks went 2-3-1 in the season series one season ago. In the final game between the teams on April 8, Mike Modano came through in his final game as a Star in front of the home fans at the American Airlines Center -- tying the game with 1:47 left in regulation, adding an assist and scoring the deciding goal in the shootout in a 3-2 triumph.

Big story -- Teemu Selanne's fourth goal of the season for Anaheim in a loss to the Detroit Red Wings on Saturday was the 610th of his career, tying him with Bobby Hull for 15th on the all-time list. The 40-year-old winger, who was named an alternate captain for 2010-11, is also 33rd all-time in career points (1,268).

Team Scope:

Ducks -- Anaheim will close out its four-game road swing against the Stars before heading home to face the New Jersey Devils. The Ducks blew leads of 3-1 and 4-3 on the way to a 5-4 loss to Detroit on Saturday as Pavel Datsyuk scored with 11.4 seconds remaining in regulation. It was Anaheim's fifth road loss in six contests. Bobby Ryan scored his second of the season and Ryan Carter and Danny Svyret each connected for their first goal in the loss. Selanne also gave them a third-period lead with his team-leading fourth goal.

Stars -- The Stars lost for only the second time in seven games on Saturday after Nashville's Cal O'Reilly converted a rebound past Kari Lehtonen 42 seconds into the game in a 1-0 victory. Dallas couldn't solve Nashville goalie Pekka Rinne, who finished with 30 saves in recording his 15th career shutout. Despite the loss, the Stars outshot their opponent for the second straight game and killed off both of Nashville's power plays. Opponents held a 190-109 advantage in shots over the Stars in the first five games.

Who's hot -- The Stars top line of Brad Richards centering for James Neal and Loui Eriksson has been a force in the early stages of the season. Richards is among the league leaders in points (10) on 2 goals and 8 assists. Neal is second on the team with 8 points (4 goals) and Eriksson is tied for fourth with 6 points (4 goals).

Injury report -- Ducks rookie defenseman Cam Fowler (broken nose) remains day-to-day but forwards Joffrey Lupul (blood infection) and Dan Sexton (broken nose) and defender Andy Sutton (broken right thumb) are out. … The Stars, meanwhile, have no significant injuries to report.

Stat pack -- Dallas captain Brenden Morrow appears as healthy as he's ever been following knee surgery that impacted his 2009-10 season. He currently leads the team with 5 goals and ranks third on the team with 16 hits.

Puck drop -- After starting the team's first seven games of the season, goalie Jonas Hiller was given a reprieve on Thursday against the Philadelphia Flyers and Saturday against Detroit as backup Curtis McElhinney was inserted between the pipes. McElhinney put in a spectacular 40-save performance to steal a victory in Philadelphia, 3-2, before turning away 36 shots in the loss to Detroit. Expect Hiller (2-4-1, 3.45 GAA, .910 save percentage) to return in goal against Dallas.
