Two days after a satisfying preseason victory in San Jose, the Ducks will look to keep it going at home against the Colorado Avalanche tonight (5 p.m. PT).
Anaheim will look for its fourth win in five preseason games against an Avalanche team it knocked off last Wednesday in Colorado, 2-1. The Ducks made it two one-goal victories in a row on Friday night, getting the game-winning overtime goal from defenseman Ben Lovejoy in a 3-2 triumph.
"We know what kind of group we have here, and when everyone takes pride to play well, even when it's the preseason, that's what it takes," said Teemu Selanne. "Those two games are a perfect example of that."
"This has been the M.O. of our team since I've been here," Lovejoy said. "We're a team that's never out. Sometimes we get ourselves in a hole early, but we're a team that goes to work and knows it's not over until the buzzer."
Goalie Viktor went the entire way, stopping 24 shots for his first win of the preseason.
Tonight is the first road game for the Avalanche, who bounced back from the loss to Anaheim earlier in the week by erasing a two-goal deficit in the third period and beating the Kings 4-3 in OT.
The Ducks and Avs face each other in the opening night of the regular season on October 2 in Colorado.
