Ducks Look for Fourth Straight Victory Tonight in Boston
Anaheim Ducks vs. Boston Bruins

DUCKS (10-3-0) at BRUINS (7-4-0)

Last 10: Anaheim 8-2-0; Boston 6-4-0

Season series: Due to a Western Conference-only schedule in 2012-13, the Ducks and Bruins meet for the first time since Mar. 25, 2012 at Honda Center…in that contest, the Ducks rallied from a 2-0 deficit and tied the game, but eventually fell to the Bruins, 3-2. The Ducks have won three of their last four meetings vs. Boston overall, including a 3-0 shutout nearly three years ago on Dec. 20, 2010 at TD Garden, the most recent contest between the two clubs to be played at Boston (Ducks have won two straight at Boston). All-time, Anaheim has posted a 10-9-5 record vs. the Bruins, including a 6-5-1 mark at TD Garden.

Big story: The Ducks (10-3-0) continue a season-long eight-game, 15-day road trip against the Boston Bruins tonight at TD Garden. The Ducks have won three straight and 10 of their last 12 games. In those 12 games, the club has outscored its opposition, 40-27 (shootout goals not included). Anaheim leads the NHL in 5-on-5 scoring with 34 goals in even-strength situations. In addition, the Ducks' 41 goals overall rank tied for fifth among NHL teams this season. The club's 35.0 shots-per-game rank second in the NHL behind only the San Jose Sharks. With a 10-3-0 record (20 points), Anaheim ranks third in the Pacific Division and third in the Western Conference (San Jose 22, Colorado 20).

The Ducks' Eastern Conference swing concludes with stops in Buffalo on Saturday (Nov. 2) and New York on Monday (Rangers, Nov. 4).

Team Scope:

Ducks: With all the injuries up front, center Nick Bonino has seen his time on ice rise from the 13-minute range to a season-high 19:25 Tuesday. This will be a homecoming for the former Boston University star, who has at least one point in four of his past five games.

The Ducks practiced at Agganis Arena on campus, and Bonino -- a member of the Terriers' 2009 NCAA championship team -- wore a BU jersey.

"It was pretty cool being able to go back there with the Ducks and skate on the ice and use the facility and see all the familiar faces," said Bonino.

"It's fun to walk the streets and everything is so familiar there. It's like you haven't been gone. And it's pretty cool to be in Agganis and see the championship banner and stuff like that. Guys make fun of you for being back, because I had a smile on my face the whole day. But it was really cool to be back there and catch up with everyone, to see the rink again and see all the guys. It was really fun."

Bonino, a Boston Red Sox fan, said he would attend Game 6 of the World Series at Fenway Park on Wednesday, as would teammates Cam Fowler, Ryan Getzlaf, Corey Perry and Penner.

Bruins: This is the second back-to-back of the season for Boston, following a 3-2 loss at the Pittsburgh Penguins with Tuukka Rask in goal.

Backup Chad Johnson made his only appearance of the season in the opener of the previous pair, defeating the Buffalo Sabres 5-2 on Oct. 23.

"We didn't play to our identity," Bruins coach Claude Julien told The Associated Press. "We didn't play a heavy game for two periods tonight. We had to play three periods like we did in the third and that wasn't the case."

The Bruins, who lost 4-3 to the New Jersey Devils at home on Saturday, will try to avoid losing three straight in regulation for the first time since dropping four in a row from March 10-15, 2012.

Who's hot: Getzlaf has four points in a three-game point streak. … Bruins forward Jarome Iginla has three goals and five assists, and forward Milan Lucic has three goals and four assists during five-game point streaks.

Injury report: Anaheim's Teemu Selanne will have oral surgery after an injury sustained against the Philadelphia Flyers on Tuesday. He is the fourth Ducks forward to be sidelined on this eight-game road trip that began Oct. 22. Another forward, Dustin Penner, told the Orange County Register he plans to return from a concussion sustained Oct. 20. Selanne is expected to be out at least two weeks after losing several teeth and needing 40 stitches. Forwards Matt Beleskey (finger), Saku Koivu (upper body), Jakob Silfverberg (hand), defenseman Luca Sbisa (ankle) and goalie Viktor Fasth (lower body) are on injured reserve. … Bruins forward Loui Erisksson (head) is out indefinitely.
