Ducks Put Perfect Home Mark on Line Against Devils
New Jersey Devils vs. Anaheim Ducks

DEVILS (7-8-5) at DUCKS (15-6-2)

TV: MSG PLUS, FS-W

Last 10: New Jersey 6-3-1; Anaheim 5-3-2

Season series: The Ducks and Devils face each other for the first time tonight since Feb. 17, 2012 (3-2 Ducks shootout loss at Prudential Center), and the first time at Honda Center in over three years (last: Oct. 29, 2010, 2-1 Ducks loss). All-time, Anaheim is 8-13-3 against New Jersey. Saku Koivu leads Anaheim in career scoring vs. New Jersey, collecting 27 points (8g/19a) in 43 contests.

Big story: Future Hall-of-Famers Teemu Selanne and Jaromir Jagr are set to face each other tonight as the Ducks host New Jersey. Between the two players, they have a combined 1,366 goals and rank 10th (Jagr, 688) and 11th (Selanne, 678) on the NHL’s all-time goals list.

This will mark the first time in over 10 years that two NHL players with 675-or-more goals faced each other in a contest. The last occurrence was when Detroit’s Brett Hull (717 goals) faced the New York Rangers’ Mark Messier (678 goals) on Oct. 25, 2003 at Madison Square Garden. Messier scored his 679th goal in that game.

Additionally, Selanne and Jagr’s combined NHL goal total of 1,366 is the most between two players facing each other since Oct. 6, 2005 when Luc Robitaille (654) faced Brett Hull (741) in a Coyotes @ Kings contest (1,395 total goals). Robitaille scored his 655th goal in that game.

Selanne (43) and Jagr (41) are the two oldest active players in the NHL.

Team Scope:

Ducks: The Pacific Division-leading Ducks earned just one point during a four-game East Coast road trip that concluded on Monday with a 3-1 loss to the Pittsburgh Penguins. Anaheim totaled just six goals in four games during a swing through Florida, Tampa Bay, Carolina and Pittsburgh. A 3-2 shootout loss to the Hurricanes on Friday provided the only point.

Despite their recent struggles, the Ducks return home to Honda Center, where the club has a perfect 8-0-0 record. Anaheim remains the only unbeaten team at home this season.

“I think coming home is great and you love playing in front of the home crowd,” said Matt Beleskey. “You get that energy and maybe some relaxation off the road. I think that’ll be good for our team.”

“We’ve had four tough games on the road and so far this year we’ve played really good at home,” said Francois Beauchemin. “We want to keep that going. Hopefully we’ll turn it around in the next two games before going back again on the road.”

Devils: New Jersey, which begins a three-game road trip through California, has points in eight of its last 11 games (6-3-2, 14 points). Brodeur made 27 saves in a 4-1 victory against the Penguins to extend his personal winning streak to four games. The 41-year-old is 6-1-0 with two shutouts, a 1.15 goals-against average and .952 save-percentage since Oct. 26. Brodeur has won six of his last seven starts, allowing just five goals on 138 shots in the past six games.

"We're looking to try to get to .500 and go from there, go forward," Brodeur said. "We're not there yet. We had a tough start, but now I think the last five, six games, it's been really good. We've been in every game and scoring a few more goals and getting some wins because of that."

Who's hot: Ducks captain Ryan Getzlaf is on a four-game point streak during which he's produced five goals and eight points. ... Devils defenseman Andy Greene has one goal and four points in the past five games.

Injury report: Center Saku Koivu (concussion) is questionable for the Ducks, though he has resumed skating. Right wing Jakob Silfverberg (broken hand) remains on injured reserve. ... New Jersey is without defensemen Bryce Salvador (fractured foot), Anton Volchenkov (lower body) and Jon Merrill (facial lacerations) as well as forward Ryane Clowe (concussion).
