ANAHEIM, Calif. (AP) -- The Anaheim Mighty Ducks only wish they had Craig Conroy's problems.

Conroy had a career-high four assists to lead the Calgary Flames to a 5-1 victory over Anaheim on Monday.

The Flames won in Anaheim for the first time since January 13, 1999, ending a nine-game winless stretch (0-6-3) at the Pond.

"I'll take four assists any night, but I just can't buy a goal right now," said Conroy, who has just one goal in 25 games this season. "It was still a good win for the team, though."

An inability to score is a problem Anaheim can certainly relate to. The Ducks peppered Flames goaltender Roman Turek with 37 shots -- including 20 in the opening period -- but failed to score more than one goal for the third time in four games.

"We had every opportunity in the world to score and we didn't finish," Anaheim coach Mike Babcock said. "They finished their opportunities and got better. We got discouraged."

With the game tied 1-1, Calgary forward Martin Gelinas pushed a loose rebound under the pads of Anaheim goalie Jean-Sebastien Giguere at 12:09 of the second.

Just 2:14 later, Saprykin drilled a shot from the right corner that deflected off the skates of two Anaheim defensemen, Todd Simpson and Ruslan Salei, before landing behind Giguere.

Josh Green and Chris Clark added third-period goals for the Flames to help Turek secure his first win of the season.

"It was a huge moment for me," Turek said. "Before the game, I was very focused. I just wanted to win one game. It was important for me, and more important for the team."

Turek made his second consecutive start. Jamie McLennan started eight games immediately following a knee injury to regular starter Miikka Kiprusoff.

Toni Lydman also scored for the Flames, who played for the first time this season without captain and leading scorer Jarome Iginla. He sprained his left ankle Saturday against Dallas.

With Iginla sidelined, Chuck Kobasew moved into the Calgary lineup and got two assists.

"We didn't miss a beat," Flames assistant coach Rich Preston said. "He gave us a lot of speed."

Flames forward Krzysztof Oliwa was given a five-minute match penalty and ejected for deliberately attempting to injure Giguere midway through the first period.

Oliwa elbowed Giguere in the head as he barreled by him behind the Anaheim net.

"It was a stupid play by an idiot," said Giguere, who had his mask knocked off and was sent sprawling to the ice by the collision. "As long as you have guys like that in the NHL, it's going to happen."

The Ducks failed to score on the ensuing five-minute power play but did manage to take a 1-0 lead when Sergei Fedorov's pass across the crease hit Turek's stick and deflected in at 18:08 of the first.

The Flames tied it on a slap shot from the right by point by Lydman during a power play 6:51 into the second.
