ANAHEIM, Calif. (AP) - With only zeros on the scoreboard in the third period, the Anaheim Mighty Ducks kept their poise and waited for their chances.
Selanne took a cross-zone pass from Andy McDonald and put his own rebound past goalie Nikolai Khabibulin to give Anaheim a 1-0 lead with 10:31 to play.
Lupul beat Khabibulin on a partial breakaway seven minutes later, and Rob Niedermayer scored into an empty net to secure the Mighty Ducks' third win in four games.
"We stayed patient tonight, it didn't come easy but we found a way," said Lupul, who ended a nine-game scoring drought.
It's been a different story for Selanne, who has scored in four straight, including two game-winners.
"It's one of those things, it's a great feeling as a goal scorer when you can really read the games and the plays to sense where the puck is going to be," Selanne said.
The Blackhawks fell to 0-6-2 in their last eight games at the Pond and are 1-11-2 in Anaheim since November 1997.
Mark Bell, who had the lone goal for the Blackhawks, scored for the sixth straight game - the NHL's longest streak this season. He has eight goals during the streak after going 14 games without a goal earlier in the season.
"Obviously they're coming in bunches, I hope this bunch lasts longer than six games," Bell said.
Chicago finished its road trip 2-3, winning in Calgary and Edmonton before also losing Thursday in Vancouver and Saturday in Los Angeles.
"The last few games have slipped away from us," Bell said. "We just didn't have enough battle to score the big goals."
Anaheim's Ilya Bryzgalov made 34 saves for his fourth win this season.
"We've found a way to buy into playing a safer type of hockey game, and we've gotten some results from it as of late," Ducks coach Randy Carlyle said.
Anaheim had four power plays in the second period and mounted considerable pressure in front of Khabibulin but couldn't score.
Chicago was 0-7 on the power play.
"When you get opportunities, you have to create momentum," Blackhawks coach Trent Yawney said. "We basically were getting frustrated. It wasn't anything they were doing, it was that we just weren't executing."
Notes: Anaheim LW Todd Fedoruk served the final game of a three-game suspension imposed for a hit on Petr Nedved in Phoenix last Tuesday. ... Ducks D Sandis Ozolinsh left the game with a left knee injury. ... The three shots in the first period matched Anaheim's low for the season and the fewest yielded on the road by Chicago.
