ANAHEIM, Calif. (AP) - The Anaheim Mighty Ducks have had a lot of fun this season at the Phoenix Coyotes' expense.

Anaheim is 6-0-1 against the Coyotes this season, with the half-dozen victories the most against one opponent in the history of the franchise.

On Sunday night, Rob Niedermayer set up third-period goals by Samuel Pahlsson and Jeff Friesen and Anaheim rallied for a 5-2 victory over the Coyotes.

Back-to-back wins over Phoenix this weekend have lifted the Ducks into a tie with Edmonton for eight place and the final playoff spot in the Western Conference.

"We got down early but found a way to claw back," Anaheim coach Randy Carlyle said. "The one thing that this group has demonstrated all year is resiliency."

With the Anaheim trailing 2-1 early in the third, Niedermayer feathered a pass to Pahlsson off a 2-on-1 break to tie it.

Less than a minute later, the Ducks broke into the Phoenix zone with Niedermayer moving the puck from behind the net to Friesen in the left circle.

Friesen sent a wrist shot past goalie Philippe Suave for his first point since returning to Anaheim in a trade with Washington on Thursday.

"Jeff's great, when he gets it in the slot. He usually burries it," said Niedermayer, who had a pair of goals in Anaheim's 5-2 win at Glendale on Saturday.

Corey Perry added an insurance goal, and Todd Marchant scored into an empty net as the Ducks improved to 14-4-3 in their last 21 home games.

"We really stepped up in the third," said Friesen, who had previously played with Anaheim from 2001-02. "It felt good to help contribute and its fun playing on this team."

Phoenix is 0-3 since making an NHL-high six trades before Thursday's league deadline.

Suave made 40 saves in his first start for Phoenix since being acquired from Calgary on Feb. 1.

"He played fantastic for us tonight, its too bad we couldn't close it out for him in the third," said Phoenix defenseman Paul Mara. His second period goal the 50th of his career gave the Coyotes a 2-0 lead after Oleg Kvasha scored a first-period goal, his first goal for the Coyotes after arriving from the New York Islanders.

"It was a hard fought game, our guys played a tough game," Phoenix coach Wayne Gretzky said. "They're a team that plays really hard and our guys really came to work tonight."

Anaheim had five power-play chances in the second, and began the rally when Joffrey Lupul tapped in a feed from Selanne on a power play with 53 seconds left in the second to draw Anaheim to 2-1.

"Once you get one it gives everybody a little life," Niedermayer said. "That was big for us to get one before we went in at the end of the period."

Notes: Ducks D Sean O'Donnell also made his home debut after being traded by Phoenix. ... Shane Doan played in his 712th game with Phoenix, matching Dale Hawerchuk for the third-most in franchise history. ... Saprykin's assist on Kvasha's goal was the 100th point of his NHL career. ... Anaheim's Scott Niedermayer assisted on two goals, giving him 41 - a single-season team record among defenseman. Fredrick Olausson had 40 during the 1998-99 season.
