On the eve of Thanksgiving Day, the Ducks were unable to right the ship in a 4-2 loss at Phoenix.

For the first time in five games, Anaheim was the team to score first when Saku Koivu lit the lamp 5:44 into regulation. The early lead would evaporate later in the opening period though, as the Coyotes scored twice in a span of 3:37 to jump in front for good on the night. The Ducks are now winless in 14 of their last 16 contests, including their last five straight.

After Phoenix tacked on two more goals later in the contest, Corey Perry tallied his team-leading eighth goal of the 2011-12 season in the third period. Jonas Hiller, getting his 18th start of the year, stopped 25-of-29 shots in the defeat.

Radim Vrbata scored a pair of goals for Phoenix. Keith Yandle had a goal and an assist and Oliver Ekman-Larsson also scored for the Coyotes, who have won four of six.

After Koivu scored on a deflection to give the Ducks a 1-0 lead at 5:44 of the first, Yandle tied the game on a one-timer from the outside hash of the left faceoff circle off a pass from Shane Doan.

Vrbata made it 2-1 with a power-play goal at 16:50 of the period, taking Martin Hanzal's backhand pass from the left side of the crease in the middle of the left circle and beating Hiller with an easy wrist shot.

He got his second at 17:21 of the second period, keeping the puck on a 2-on-1 with Hanzal and scoring on a backhand shot as he skated across the front of the crease.

Ekman-Larsson capped the scoring with 15:33 to go, bouncing a shot off the skates of two Anaheim players - one between the circles and the second to the left of the crease - and past Hiller.

Perry, who was stopped on a breakaway by Mike Smith with a left pad save at 4:11 of the second, scored on another breakaway with 6:51 to go.

The Ducks will quickly return to Honda Center for a six-game homestand, which begins on Friday afternoon against Chicago.
