RALEIGH, N.C. -- Riley Nash and Chris Terry scored in the shootout to lift the Carolina Hurricanes to a 3-2 win against the Anaheim Ducks on Friday night.

Nash scored in the first round of the tiebreaker, but Corey Perry tied it for Anaheim by beating Justin Peters to start the second round. Terry ended the game by beating Viktor Fasth in the third round.

Fasth made 21 saves in his first appearance since October 16 after missing 13 contests due to a lower-body injury.

"I felt great. The injury has healed like it should," he said. "I feel nothing when I’m on the ice. It’s great."

Despite the shootout loss, Fasth credited his teammates for digging deep after a 5-1 blowout loss in Tampa Bay on Thursday night.

"I think we played a really good game today," he said. "We basically just gave up 20 shots and had a lot of chances for us."

The Ducks opened the scoring scored with two minutes remaining when Ryan Getzlaf picked off Justin Faulk's pass and fed Perry for his 12th goal of the season.

The Hurricanes got even with 16 seconds remaining when Alexander Semin skated through the Ducks' zone, patiently waiting for his shot before ripping a wrister past Fasth, who was screened, for a power-play goal. It was Semin's fourth goal of the season and first in nine games.

Neither team managed much in the way of offense in the first period. Fasth stopped Jay Harrison's bid from the point, reaching back with his glove to sweep away a puck that trickled toward the goal line.

After falling behind early on in the third period, the Ducks tied the game at 7:18 on Dustin Penner's power-play goal. It was Anaheim's third power-play goal on the road this season.

Anaheim fell to 0-2-1 on a four-game road trip that ends with a game against the Pittsburgh Penguins on Monday.

Ducks forward Daniel Winnik left the game late in the period after taking a puck in the mouth at center ice. He returned in the third period.
